Once you have your new website or blog up and running, your next challenge will be to generate traffic. If you don’t have any visitors coming to your site, you can’t make any sales. I’m going to give you four important steps to follow to help increase traffic to your website.

1. Have unique content on your website. Search engine robots look at all websites on a regular basis looking for sites with fresh and new content. It is therefore important for you to have fresh and high quality content which will get your website quickly indexed by search engines.

2. Your keyword or words should be included in the title of your post and the content of that post. If you are trying to sell blue baby bottles, then your post title should be something like “Get Blue Baby Bottles”, and your opening paragraph in the post should be, “I have found THE best place to Get Blue Baby Bottles!”. By doing this, the search engines can easily see that you have relevant information about blue baby bottles and when someone does a search for blue baby bottles, the search engines will include your site in the index.

3. Submit your website to the search engines. Some people never consider this. The search engines will eventually find your site, but if you tell them about it first, you’ll be that much farther ahead. If you’re using a Wordpress blogging platform, you can easily get your site map by installing the Google sitemap xml plug in. After you’ve generated a sitemap, then also submit it manually to Google Webmaster for indexing.

4. Exchange links with other blogs or websites in the same niche. If you’re providing fresh, unique and informative content, instead of driving your visitors away this will increase your traffic. Your visitors will appreciate the fact that they can come to your site and if you don’t have what they need, you’ll send them to someone who does. You will become their hub site!

These four steps I’ve outlined are just a small fraction of the number of ways there are to increase traffic to your website. However, they are very basic and very easy to do. Follow these steps and you’ll soon see a big increase in traffic to your website!

Hi

Sound advice I would say. Obtaining unique content is the problem. I think even short posts which are of interest to the reader will do.
