Make Money with Facebook
Posted Under: Social Marketing
I find that one of the largest problems with networking on Facebook is there are so many other people promoting their own businesses. Many of them like to push their business opportunities in your face relentlessly. This tends to be very annoying, and simply isn’t a good marketing technique at all as it will just turn people off.
The best way to find prospects is to add friends in your home-based business industry. It’s no secret that there are plenty of poor home-based business opportunities out there, and a lot of members of social media sites are promoting them. Members of such programs may be looking for a new opportunity… and that’s where you come in.
No offense to any home business owners out there that are into MLM, but many newbies get sucked into MLM business scams, spend a lot of money on the initial sign up process buying their “kits”, and don’t make a dime. The attrition rate in MLM is seldom very good. Most beginners to MLM quit the company within their first 90 days.
Using this information, join some of Facebooks groups such as home-based business groups, MLM groups, internet marketing groups, and so on, and add members to your friends list. Do not start marketing to the right away. This is not the time to promote to your new friend by sending them a link to your website, or by telling them about your business program.
Simply send a message such as, “Hi Rod, I see you’re a member of ‘so and so’ group. I’m looking to network with like-minded people and hope you will accept me as a friend”. If they agree to ask you about your business, then go ahead and discuss it, but let them ask you about it first, as opposed to the other way around.
Your Facebook profile should show who you are and what your program is (with a link or two to your websites). Posting in group topics with useful home-business information, or posting your blog feed to your page can portray to establish you as a reliable home-business owner with some experience knowledge to share. This may entice people to want to know more about what it is you do.
Keep in mind, having the entire page dedicated to business can be a turn-off to many visitors; however, if you personalize it with pictures and information about yourself and show visitors who you really are, it can make them feel more comfortable and gain their trust quicker.
Using Facebook, or other social platforms, will be more profitable for you if you’re with a top-tier internet marketing program where any lead could possibly generate sales in the thousands of dollars. Keep in mind that there is a limit to the amount of “friends” you have. Be sure to read the current TOS for the updated amount Facebook is allowing. Facebook is 100% free to join. The only time you would pay is if you choose to use their paid advertising, which is very reasonable and quite lucrative. If you do not yet have a Facebook page it would be to your advantage to create a page and start prospecting.
If you learn how to generate money with Facebook it is possible to do so with only a little effort. Just imagine in a few days or weeks you could be generating money by using Facebook, at the same time as you are keeping in touch with your friends and family.

June,
I agree that there are some good points in the article. I would also like to recommend that anyone who is using social media for growing their business might want to set up a separate account for that so their family and friends don’t get tortured with endless pitches from people they don’t know!
Have a great day!

I must warn; however, that only one account can be created on Facebook. You can open as many separate “pages” and two “advertising accounts” under the one umbrella, but it does state in their TOS that you can only have one personal account OR one business account. A business account is very limited where a personal account allows you to manage everything.
This page will explain the difference in accounts.

This is what Facebook says about multiple accounts:
“Maintaining multiple accounts, regardless of the purpose, is a violation of Facebook’s Terms of Use. If you already have a personal account, then we cannot allow you to create business accounts for any reason. You can manage all the Pages and Socials Ads that you create on your personal account…..
….If you wish to manage ads for multiple clients, you will need to do so from one account. We suggest you restrict all ads for each client to separate campaigns. Unfortunately it is not currently possible to designate separate credit cards for each campaign or to have multiple administrators for the same ad account.

I do know that many people are misinformed about this and will open multiple accounts using different names, birth dates and e-mail addresses, but if caught, all accounts will be banned. I believe that the only way to open another account, once banned, would be to use a proxy ISP. Not positive about that , but that is my understanding.
I hope that helps to clarify things.
