Get Quality Traffic for Your Fitness and Health Website

Web traffic generation is a hot topic these days. There are countless methods being recommended to increase traffic. Some are useless junk and some actually work as promised.
I’ve run several web businesses full time for over five years now. I’ve tried just about every traffic generating method out there. Let me save you some time and tell you what doesn’t work. At least it didn’t for me.
Advertising Methods That Are A Waste Of Time:
Free for all sites:
These don’t work because no one is really reading your offer. The other submitters are like you, and just want to promote there offer. The only people going to these sites is people selling something. Think about it. How many times have you gone to one of these sites to shop.
Email Spamming:
Don’t do it! You can get yourself in a lot of trouble. If someone reports you, your ISP or web host can shut your account down. It’s not only illegal, it’s annoying to others. No one is going to buy from people who send them junk mail. Most likely, the spam filters will just stop the message from ever being seen.
Push Button Website Creators:
How many people waste money on this type of system? Save yourself some time and money and stay away from these. If it were that easy, the owner of the software
Buying The Latest Magic System: How many millions of dollars have been wasted by people getting scammed by the “latest magic traffic system”? Don’t fall for it. Keep your money in your pocket.
Advertising Methods That Work:
Pay Per Click:
This method does work. The biggest drawback is the expense. Many people that are just starting out should probably try less expensive methods first. If you don’t know what your doing you could lose a lot of money. Who wants to spend $500 to make $50?
Posting To Social Websites:
This can work but takes a lot of time. You have to sign up for each social network and then be a regular contributor. Don’t just spam your offer all over these sites. It’ll just get your account deleted and mark you as a spammer.
If you do want to follow this route, you can try Squidoo or Hubpages. These sites get a lot of traffic. Just don’t expect to throw up some junk and get a lot of visitors. You’ll have to spend some time making a quality page.

Submitting Articles to Article Directories:
This is my favorite traffic generating method. You not only get direct traffic from the article directories, but you also get a lot of highly targeted one-way backlinks.
Write a quality article. Don’t just spin some PLR articles with a one click spinner. You’ll just get junk. You want to have a good quality article or the directories won’t publish it. Take your article and submit it to the top 10 article websites. Write another article and repeat.
Not only should you submit to the biggest and best article directories, but also make sure to submit to niche article directories. This will give you the biggest advantage in the search engines due to the related theme of your site and theirs. Also, more people are likely to click through to your website. Example: if you run a health and fitness website, be sure to submit your article to as many health article directories you can find.
Try to write and submit at lease one or more articles per week. Make it a habit. It’ll pay off in the long run.

It is so easy for people new to the Internet to get caught up in these silly useless ways of advertising. Traffic Exchanges is another one that wasn’t mentioned in this article by Brad Bahr. People get convinced when they are new that they will make a lot of sales by joining these useless programs like Traffic Exchanges and it just is not true. Traffic Exchanges are only good to help build your list, but not for sales. The only page that should ever be put into a traffic exchange is a squeeze page.
If you should ever decide to add to your health and fitness list this way, first try to find Traffic Exchanges that are related to your niche rather than the Internet marketing niche.
